Given China’s importance on the world stage, the Foundation also works to facilitate a more mature, stable, and normal China-U.S. bilateral relationship.3 i6 M$ n8 |6 Q. i% r

+ C! ~0 R8 `: LThe Asia Foundation is soliciting applications from resident Chinese nationals for the position of Program Officer, based in the Foundation’s Beijing office.

The Program Officer will be responsible for the management of the Foundation’s program activities related to: community development, disaster management, charity sector development, and a range of other topics as identified and agreed upon.

The Program Officer, Community Development Program will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing Foundation’s program activities. The Program Officer will also explore new directions for programming in China.

Program Development

-          Participate in and/or lead fundraising and networking efforts with current and potential donors.

-          Design, conduct, and coordinate program activities (e.g., assessments, trainings, workshops, conferences, study tours), including providing substantive guidance to strengthen project implementation.

-          Review, provide feedback on, and ensure quality of all project deliverables (including coordination, review, editing, translation, and finalization of deliverables submitted by project partners/consultants).

-          Review and update work plan and monitoring and evaluation plan regularly.

" K/ l  @/ q) C2 [8 K0 C-          Minimum of Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, or related social science field.

-          Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in program management and development with an emphasis in social development or related field.4 D* c4 t5 m/ n# L

" i5 j; r% k7 ~6 f, W4 u2 I-          Knowledge and understanding of the Chinese government system and NGO/community development issues in China. A background in civil society development would be an advantage.
