To support the Programme Manager on the Water Stewardship Initiative including developing partnerships with the government and businesses, and implementing related projects in China.

Functions and Responsibilities:

-          Assist the Programme Manager to develop and implement China water stewardship strategy and action plans and define priority areas in China;


-          Drive the processes and platforms for WWF China to engage with the private and public sectors on water issues;

: P! v0 d' H8 [& m-          Help build relationships with targeted companies and interest groups and, through these relationships, influence policy and practice on private sector water use, supply chain management, corporate risk and water management policy work at national and river basin levels;

+ L+ H  t: B! c+ N& j8 `) a- a-          Undertake standard project management tasks as appropriate including drafting project concepts, preparation of budgets and work plans, managing contracts with consultants and partners, and completing timely reports to donors and WWF senior management;


/ T1 V2 u2 {3 d: m$ p) @-          Provide supports to related programmatic work such as our Freshwater related programmes in the Yangtze, Upper Mekong and Amur-Heilong, as well as Implement marketing, communication and promotion activities for the water initiatives in collaboration with dedicated WWF Marketing and Communications staffs;

-          Others as required and assigned by the supervisor.


Work Relationship

$ }) x. e; E+ m5 l& d3 J& r-          Internal: Daily contact with the Programme Manager and other staffs in the Freshwater Programme; regular interact with the Marketing department and Communications department at WWF.

-          External: Interacts with related government agencies and representatives of industry, as required in fulfillment of duties.

/ t) d2 Q$ v$ {4 G- _1 a0 m% @-           At least two years’ experience in some of the following fields: water resources management, environment conservation, corporate relations, NGO-private sector partnerships, etc.

% ]2 O6 V% e- |8 V0 D3 A-           At least bachelor’s degree. Preferably, yet not a must, in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or related subjects

-           Excellent in English and Chinese, both writing and communication skills

-           Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

-           Experience of project management highly preferable.
