The Ford Foundation Beijing Office has 24 staff and makes grants in eight program areas. It is currently looking for applications for the position of Assistant to the Representative. This is a leadership position among the local staff in the Foundation. The Assistant has responsibility for a wide range of functions including oversight of the broad management of local staff issues, the management of the Representatives schedule, the flow of information and documents to and from the representative, confidential management of staff information, assistance to the representative in grant-making related work, liaison with outside organizations including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, liaison with the head office in New York, and a full range of related duties. 1. Strong personal integrity and reliability

7. A university or higher degree in a field related to the work of the Foundation, such as a Master degree in public administration, development studies or the social sciences.4 j3 N/ r! x* V
8. Between five and ten years of administrative or secretarial work experience, in an international context, preferably working in the development field.
; n) A, y- u* j. L1 j9. Good computer skills, in particular with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
